New Student Orientation
This required event helps students make the adjustment to Gravitas. Come meet your teachers and classmates and learn about how to flourish this year.

Convocation Ceremony
The Gravitas school year kicks off with Convocation, a calling together of all faculty, staff, and students to pray, reflect on God's word, and encourage everyone as they begin a new school year.

Live classes that meet on Tuesdays begin today.
September 7
No Classes - US Labor Day
No online classes or chapel today. Gravitas is off for US Labor Day.
September 21
Friday Classes Meet
Because Friday classes will not meet on September 26 due to Fall Break, we will run a Friday schedule on Monday, September 22.
September 25
Parent-Teacher Conferences - No Classes
At Gravitas, we value our partnership with parents to ensure the success of all of our students. On this day, parents will book brief meetings with their student's teachers to discuss their progress and work together to help them thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.

Classes Resume - Monday Schedule
Monday chapel and Monday classes meet on this day. Wednesday classes do not meet.
October 16
Mid-Semester 1
At Mid-Semester 1, teachers will provide updates on grades. This is just a grading checkpoint mostly useful to seniors who are applying early decision or early action. Mid-Semester 1 grades do not factor into final transcript grades.
October 26
Faculty In-Service Day - No Classes
Classes and chapel do not meet today. Faculty will participate in in-service activities in preparation for Mini-Course/Summit Week.
October 27-30
Fall Mini-Course Week/Gravitas Fall Summit
Normal classes do not meet this week. Instead, Gravitas will offer exciting four-day online mini-courses and the opportunity to participate in the Gravitas Fall Summit on the campus of The Stony Brook School.
November 1
Daylight Savings Ends
Gravitas changes to US Eastern Standard Time (EST), so if your country does not observe Daylight Savings, your classes will move an hour later.
November 23-30
Thanksgiving Break
Gravitas is on break this week to give thanks to God for His abundant blessings.
December 14-17
Fall Oral Assessments
During these four days, students will schedule their oral assessments with their teachers.
December 18, 2026-January 4, 2027
Christmas Break
Gravitas is on break this week to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the miracle of the incarnation.

Semester 2 Begins

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Gravitas students will not meet for normal classes but will engage in community service activities in honor of Dr. King.
February 8
Parent Teacher Conferences
Gravitas students will not meet for normal classes. Parents will sign up to meet with their students' teachers.

Teachers will submit Mid-Semester 2 grades. This is a checkpoint that has no bearing on transcript grades.

Spring Capstone Week/Gravitas Spring Summit
Normal classes will meet this week, but classes will have reduced homework. Gravitas will offer travel courses, missions trips, and the opportunity to participate in the Gravitas Spring Summit.
May 10
Moving Up Ceremony (Online)
Celebrate the end of the school year with our annual Moving Up ceremony and announcement of the House Cup winners!

Classes will meet on a Friday schedule today.
May 21-27
Spring Semester Oral Assessments
During these three days, students will schedule their Spring Semester oral assessments.
